Running Jumping Standing Still's records were next to impossible to get here in the States (so were those of the La De Das, Johnny O'Keefe, Masters Apprentices, Little Pattie, etc. But that's a different story.....). But I persisted and managed to get copies of both of their 45s on Sunshine, including this first rate version of Diddy Wah Diddy (which the Remains also cut here for Epic). Theirs is a brief but enduring legacy of first rate first generation garage rock.

What an incredibly powerful voice. No wonder Ritchie Blackmore found him. I saw Rainbow with Graham Bonnet singing lead vocal and he had short hair and I thought that was cool. He was wearing sunglasses the whole show as well. Great voice.

I loved this song in 1968 and still do in 2024, it was a wonderful era of great music.❤

Who Had it First This Band Or The Easybeats?

My brother played guitar in the band of the man who wrote this song (and many other hits). The only white guy in the band. Even toured Europe with them. My kid brother!

I met JOK at a gig in a pub in Dandenong he was a great guy with manners Something todayssingers are lacking gave his autograph to girl I was with at time no trouble at all I was 15 and feeling very grown up 😊😊
